When to Go

Surf Seasons

Winter (May to October)

Best time to visit

Prime surf season. South swells generated by Southern Ocean storms deliver consistent, powerful waves. Offshore winds in the morning create glassy conditions.

Summer (November to April)

Cyclone swells

Tropical cyclone swells can bring epic, if unpredictable, conditions. Smaller crowds and warmer water make it appealing for beginners.
